Over Cooked Dibbers Having had our 40ft container through (which I had to unload!) of Carrots to Cauliflowers products we encountered some quality issues when checking through it all...don't panic! We found that roughly a quarter of the dibbers, in either the Vegetable Garden Gift Set or the Seed and Plant Dibber with Twine, they were covered in a various array of colours and smells!
Having delved deeper into the issue, and spoken to our supplier in India we discovered a longer story behind this problem. When the dibbers are in the early stages of production they require a process of being dried...by a furnace (you can probably see where this is heading!). Having put a batch of the dibbers into the furnace to have them dryed they were left for too long and actually caught fire, burning down the whole drying machine! Because of this our supplier was left short of large amount of dibbers and had to put the still damp ones into the product. A damp dibber left in a large container for 3 weeks is just a recipe for disaster and consequently we were left with a selection of mould ridden dibbers!
If you are beginning to worry about your Vegetable Garden Gift Sets and Seed and Plant Dibbers with Jute Twine, STOP! We have had them all cleaned up and they are all looking brand new, and they are all now dry! |
